Congress does not want this country to have (barely) affordable energy. See the following link to an article that has some of the figures (I haven't got time to check these. Maybe TV or newspaper reporters who complain that internet sources don't check facts would like to check this. It seems that it would be important to those of us who can barely aford heat and gas as it is.)
